
Solid boosters, for example, can't be shut down. This only works on certain parts, obviously. You might want to mash the space bar until it does, sometimes takes a couple more strokes. Make sure your mouse isn't hovering over the stages.

When reaching green conditions, right click it and shut it down. To do that, click the + symbol next to the active stage, and drag the new, empty stage below it. While reaching said conditions, make a new stage right under the one active.

Activate engine, reach green conditions. If you need to engage the engine first to achieve green conditions, here's the workaround I use, with which you can fool the game into thinking you're activating the engine on conditions: You need to activate it through staging when all conditions are green. Okay then, when launching, click in the "contracts" button on the top right corner and look for the lvt45 contract.
